Sustain Alive

"Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother, you're staying alive..."

GTXR's first rocket, Sustain Alive, made its debut at the Spaceport America Cup in 2019, marking a significant milestone for the team. This rocket utilized commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) motors, showcasing the team's resourcefulness and ability to work within constraints. Sustain Alive achieved a successful staging using black powder charges, followed by a flawless sustainer ignition. The rocket soared to an impressive apogee of 30,000 ft, demonstrating the team's engineering capabilities and their ability to design a rocket that can perform reliably and reach considerable altitudes. This launch set the foundation for GTXR's subsequent endeavors, inspiring them to aim higher and further as they continue to push the boundaries of rocketry.
