Live and Let Fly

"But if this ever changin' world in which we live in makes you give in and cry,
say live and let fly"

Live and Let Fly was a two-stage sounding rocket designed and flown during the 2024-2025 academic year. Spanning 17.6ft in length and weighing a total of 265 lbm, the vehicle was designed with the objective of testing our ability to control all flight events with a custom in-house flight computer, develop structures that are able to handle intense supersonic flight, successfully ignite the second stage at high altitude, and accurately simulate flight conditions. The vehicle also featured a 8'' booster motor and 6'' sustainer motor, both of which were designed, manufactured, and tested in-house.

On July 13th 2025, Live and Let Fly launched from/at Friends of Amateur Rocketry Launch Complex in Mojave, California.
