GTXR's third rocket, Mr. Blue Sky, embarked on its mission from the FAR launch complex in Mojave, CA in 2022. Powered by SRAD (Student Researched and Developed) solid rocket motors, this remarkable rocket showcased the team's commitment to developing their own cutting-edge propulsion systems. With the successful deployment of GTXR's inaugural mechanical staging system, Mr. Blue Sky achieved a significant milestone. Although the sustainer ignition encountered a challenge, the team's resilience shone through as they continued to adapt and learn. Despite this setback, Mr. Blue Sky reached an impressive apogee of 19,500 ft, attesting to GTXR's expertise in optimizing their vehicle and pushing the boundaries of rocket performance.
