Megamind was GNC’s first project as a team and Georgia Tech's first attempt at controlled rocketry. This rocket utilized canards and reached a maximum apogee of 15,500ft. The development of Megamind and it's experimentation with canards helped the team to determine a path towards new methods of flight guidance. GNC projects then moved from aerodynamic-based control systems to thrust vector controls.
